東京タワー
小学生時代、遠足で行った東京タワー。
あの頃、東京の超高層ビルといえば池袋のサンシャインビル、
新宿の副都心や浜松町の貿易センタービルくらいでした。
東京湾の青さ、富士山や筑波山もよく見えました。
先週末、子供を連れて２０年振りに上ったタワー。
「こんなに低かったっけ。もっと高いイメージあったけどなぁ」
私の背丈も伸びたし、幼い頃の記憶が増長されているのを差し引いても
低い感じがしました。
最近では、フランスのエッフェル塔にも上りましたけど
エッフェル塔のほうが高いような印象を受けました。
（エッフェル塔は324ｍで東京タワーより9ｍ低い）
周りのビル群が高層化されてきた影響が大きいのでしょうか。
最近、第2東京タワーの設置場所が墨田区に決定しました。
現在の東京タワーが計画された当初は、上野公園あたりに建てる予定だったとのこと。
地盤の問題から現在の位置に決定、増上寺の一部を取り壊して建てたそうです。
東京全域に電波を行き渡らせるために380ｍの高さが必要だったのを、風の影響でアンテナが揺れ
画像が乱れる可能性があったことから、影響を受けないぎりぎりの寸法として現在の高さが選ばれた
のです。
第2東京タワー（610ｍ）が2011年には出来るそうですが、現在の東京タワーもシンボルタワーとして
残してもらいたいものです。
